Police arrested more than a dozen people in Melbourne's west this morning following reports of an alleged assault.

Emergency services were called to a home at Mambourin near Wyndham Vale this morning after reports a man had allegedly been assaulted.

When police arrived, the people inside the home allegedly refused to come out.

Heavily armed tactical officers arrived at the scene, went through the property and arrested 13 people.

Police found a man in his 20s inside the home who was unresponsive.

He was taken to hospital in a stable condition.

9News understands the property hosted a party last night and it is often used for short-term accommodation after being rented out online.

One neighbour said the situation has become a nuisance.

"We don't know what kind of people come and stay there," he said.

Most of the people who were arrested by police were later allowed to leave.

Officers are investigating what happened.
