One dead, three wounded in two separate Cape Flats shootings

One person has been shot and killed and three others wounded in two separate shooting incidents on the Cape Flats.

In the first incident a 35-year-old man was shot and killed at his house in Eureka Estate in Elsies River on Friday night.

Police say the man reportedly returned from mosque when he was called outside by an unknown man and shot.

In the second incident, three people including a child were wounded in Lavender Hill early Saturday morning.

Police spokesperson Ndakhe Gwala says two males sustained injuries and were transported to a medical facility, while an 8-year-old boy was shot in his right hand.

Gwala says the motive for the shooting is unknown and no arrests have been made yet.
