A day of family fun on the Flag Market is being made free for anyone in Lancashire to attend.
Preston Weekender has confirmed the FamilyFest on the Sunday of the early May Bank Holiday has seen ticket prices scrapped.
Organisers Preston’s Business Improvement District say this is due to the Saturday of the Weekender being way ahead of ticket sale expectations and also due to increased funding from Preston City Council to subsidise the Sunday of the festival.

Entertainment for the Sunday (3 May) includes Bjorn Again, Harry Moulding of Britain’s Got Talent, Ranger Mike, The Awesome Taz, Circus School, DJ Savvy, SpudBros, Ranger Mike and his Dinosaurs, Runway Club and plenty more. See the full Sunday line-up.
The festival, which is suitable for all ages, runs from 12pm to 6pm and although now free you are required to register. Anyone with a Lancashire postcode will see the ticket price removed at checkout and be capped at two tickets per registration.
Assistant director and head of arts and culture at Preston City Council, Timothy Joel, said: “We’ve been absolutely delighted with the response to Saturday’s event. The ticket sales have exceeded our expectations, and we wanted to build on that momentum.
“By making Sunday’s Family Fest event free for Lancashire residents, we’re ensuring even more families can come along, get involved and enjoy everything that The Preston Weekender has to offer.”
The capacity on the Flag Market is up to 2,000 for the FamilyFest so people are being encouraged to register early to ensure they get their place.
Anyone who has already purchased tickets will receive a full refund automatically and be invited to claim their free places instead.
Preston Weekender places for the Sunday can be claimed via the Weekender website.
Tickets are still on sale for the Saturday of the Weekender which sees Paul Oakenfold and Joel Corry headline in a Cream-inspired dance night – which Blog Preston understands is now nearing being close to sell out on capacity.
