A problem property close to New Hall Lane has been taken back by the housing association responsible for it.

Community Gateway Association and Lancashire Police say ‘several months of partnership work’ has been needed.

The social housing group said there had been numerous reports of drug-related activity and anti-social behaviour connected with the property in Braddon Street in the Fishwick area.

Head of housing services at Community Gateway, Fiona Fisher, said: “We want all tenants to feel safe in their homes and neighbourhoods. As a responsible landlord, we take reports of anti-social behaviour seriously and play a role in supporting and investigating concerns. We are not always the lead agency and rely on partners, such as the police or local authority to use their legal powers to take action.

“We work closely with these agencies to support investigations and take appropriate action where we can, so tenants can feel safe and secure.”

Lancashire Police confirmed no arrests had been made at this stage and the property had been taken back by Gateway by voluntary agreement without need for enforcement.
