Rivington Brewing Co has won a prestigious gold medal in the NW Regional Champion Beer of Britain competition run by the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA).
The brewery was awarded the top prize in the highly competitive category for Session Pale, Blond & Golden Ales for their Beach House Pale, with judging carried out at the recent Liverpool Beer Festival.
This followed its nomination by CAMRA Members and Tasting Panels and it will now go forward – along with the winners from other regions – into the finals of the Champion Beer of Britain competition to be held in 2027.

Rivington Brewing Co was founded in 2014 by friends Ben Stubbs and Mike Richardson. The brewery and its associated taproom are based at Home Farm, a working farm looking towards Rivington Pike and overlooking Lower Rivington Reservoir.

A spokesperson for Rivington said: “Ben and Mike started with a humble plastic home brewing kit and have grown the business steadily and progressively by producing – as they themselves say – ‘the best possible hoppy beers, lagers, stouts, fruited sours and barrel aged ales.’
“We’re probably best known for our hop forward pale ales and IPAs so it seems appropriate that one of these has taken this award.”

Chris Sandison, CAMRA’s North West Regional Tasting Panel Coordinator, said: “Congratulations to the team at Rivington Brewery who gained Gold with their Beach House Pale, a fantastic achievement when you consider that they were up against breweries from across the whole of the north west.”
