Underwater search experts supporting at Preston Docks police operation

There was a significant search and rescue operation launched by police and the fire service early on Monday morning.

Emergency services were called to Preston Docks at around 1.07am on Monday morning (16 March) after concerns were raised for the welfare of a man.

The search has been underway through the night and emergency services remain at the scene.

Police were supported by Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service along with underwater search experts.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Constabulary said: “We are carrying out enquiries after concerns were raised for the welfare of a man.

“Searches are ongoing and support is being provided by our colleagues at the fire and rescue service and underwater search experts.”
