Beloved children’s classic We’re Going on a Bear Hunt will be brought to life in Preston with the music performed live by the Leyland Band.
Taking place on Saturday 14 March at Crossgate Church, the much-loved animated film will be shown on the big screen while one of the world’s best brass bands performs the full soundtrack live on stage, creating a magical, immersive experience for families and music lovers alike.
We’re Going on a Bear Hunt features an all-star voice cast including Olivia Colman, Mark Williams and Pam Ferris, with an original soundtrack that includes the heartfelt song Me & You by George Ezra.
This Preston premiere marks the launch of a major new production that will tour across Lancashire and beyond throughout 2026 and 2027, bringing world-class live arts experiences to local communities.
At the Preston performances, children may even have the chance to meet a very special furry guest – the bear himself.

Ryan Broad, Production Manager at Leyland Band, said: “This is a truly special event that brings together live music, film and storytelling in a way that captivates family audiences. We’re passionate about creating unforgettable and interactive musical shows and this one will be perfect for first-time concert goers, so it’s fantastic to see such strong demand already. We’re especially proud to launch this debut production here in Preston, bringing something really unique to our local community.”
The production features a brand-new arrangement of the soundtrack, created especially for brass band by the film’s composer, Stuart Hancock, who will conduct the premiere performances in Preston. Stuart is a highly regarded film composer, and one of his recent films has been nominated for an Oscar.
Following the success of Leyland Band’s live film concerts of The Snowman and Wallace & Gromit in 2025, this latest production continues the band’s mission to bring exciting, accessible arts experiences to audiences across the region.
Demand for the event has already been exceptionally strong – the 1pm screening is nearly sold out, and a second performance at 3pm has recently been added to meet audience demand. Tickets are available from the Fienta website.
