Suspended Ekurhuleni Metro Police deputy chief Julius Mkhwanazi and Ekurhuleni City manager Kagiso Lerutla will spend another weekend behind bars following the postponement of the ruling in their bail application.
The matter involving the duo has been postponed to next Tuesday in the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court.

The defence team has again dismissed the state’s assertion that the accused would interfere with the investigation and intimidate witnesses if they were released on bail.
However, defence lawyer Mike Hellens has argued that granting the accused bail is in the best interests of justice.
“There’s insufficient content in the state’s sole ground of opposition to bail, namely, interference with the witnesses. There is nothing. Their argument is full of vague allegations”, says Hellens.
