A man was arrested in Ashton-on-Ribble after becoming part of a stand-off with armed police.
Police attended a property on the roads around Ashton Primary School at 7.33pm on Saturday evening (4 April) and were carrying out arrest enquiries for a man wanted on recall to prison.
When they arrived, the suspect was believed to be in possession of a knife and made threats to police officers while refusing to leave the property.
Armed officers were called in support and the man was arrested at 9.22pm.
The 24-year-old was arrested on suspicion of breaching a restraining order and on prison recall. He remains in custody.
A number of roads were closed while police dealt with the incident.
A spokesperson for police said: “At 7.33pm yesterday officers attended a property in Ashton to carry out arrest enquiries for a man wanted on recall to prison.
“Officers arrived and the suspect was believed to be in possession of a knife and had made threats to officers. He also refused to leave the property.
“A number of officers attended the scene, including armed response officers, and at 9.22pm a 24-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested on suspicion of breaching a restraining order and on prison recall. He remains in custody at this time.”
