No date has yet been set for when a former pub in Preston city centre is to be demolished.
The fate of the Tithebarn pub which faces into Lord Street and Tithebarn Street has ebbed and flowed over the past 12 months after the council announced in May last year it planned to demolish the building.
Owned by Preston City Council it was confirmed in mid-February the wrecking ball would swing after it had at one stage looked set to be saved.

But despite being classified as an unsafe building the pub has remained standing for the time being as there is heritage importance to its basement.
Interim director for environment and property at the city council, Mark Taylor, told Blog Preston: “A date is yet to be confirmed for the demolition of the Tithebarn Pub as further specifications works need to be finalised to save the cellar.”
A pub has stood on the site since the late 1700s and heritage campaigners Preserving Preston’s Heritage had argued the pub building should be saved in some shape or form.
But the decision was taken to demolish the building with the city council’s Labour administration saying they could not justify any restoration cost and pointing to recent survey reports which outlined the state of the building.
As Blog Preston revealed before Christmas there has been extensive lobbying by the nearby Vault Youth Zone for something to be done about the building which was branded an eyesore.
