There were long delays on the M6 northbound due to a mixture of a lane closure due to a crash and high volume of Easter weekend traffic.
Emergency services were called to the M6 northbound between junction 32 for Preston and junction 33 for Lancaster South after a crash at around 11.30am on Friday (3 April).
National Highways North West said that lane one was closed as a result of the collision and that there were 30 minutes of delays on approach.

The delays due to the crash are adding to already high levels of congestion due to people heading to either Blackpool or the Lake District over Easter weekend.
In addition to long delays on the M6, there are delays on the A6 Garstang Road north from Whittingham Lane.
