Leyland could soon be home to a golf simulation driving range.

Under plans submitted to South Ribble Borough Council, applicant Paul Christopher wants to open the business in an industrial unit on Tomlinson Road, off Golden Hill Lane.

If approved, the currently vacant unit will be transformed to house six booths each fitted with a golf simulator.

According to the application, the booths include a large screen and seating area allowing each one to host up to four customers at a time. The new business also plans to serve light snacks and drinks, including a small alcohol selection.

Opening hours are requested from 6am-10pm on weekdays, 7am-10pm on Saturdays, and 7am-9pm on Sundays and bank holidays and it is hoped the development will create one full-time job and three part-time roles.

The plan is part of a developing theme in the town, with a venue housing golf simulators and a bar due to open soon in the town centre.
