A growing dance academy has moved to new premises between Ribbleton and Grimsargh.

King’s Dance Academy has relocated to a dedicated studio at the Roman Way Industrial Estate.

Previously operating from Longridge, Izzy King said the growth of the dance group to more than 300 young people has seen them need bigger premises.

She said: “It’s been a frantic few weeks as we had a period of running temporarily from community halls and other venues while the studio was being renovated at the Astra Business Centre.

“We now have four spacious studios with fully sprung flooring, mirrors, ballet bars and heating – as well as other facilities.”

The Dance Academy began on Zoom during the Covid lockdown and has grown to employ 13 dance teachers.

Izzy said: “We needed somewhere to give our dancers more opportunities and more space.

“Our dancers already perform on the West End, the 02 and in October will be competing in Las Vegas.

“We’re so excited to see what the new studios bring for us.”

She also paid tribute to Lee’s Handyman Services who did the fit out to turn it into a custom dance studio.

A grand opening night was held on Tuesday 14 April with the first dance groups using the new studios.

To be able to head to Las Vegas for the dance competition the group are continuing to fundraise to help with the cost of the trip – with nearly £4,000 raised so far via their GoFundMe page.
