Police and Crime Commissioner for Lancashire, Clive Grunshaw, visited Jennings Community Boxing Academy with Chorley MP Sir Lindsay Hoyle.
They saw ‘first-hand’ how anti-social behaviour and crime is being tackled in the boxing gym.
Funding from the Commissioner’s Community Fund is helping to support Jennings which helps young people who aren’t in mainstream education anymore.

The project utilises cash seized from criminals in a bid to make Chorley safer.
Clive Grunshaw said: “I’m really pleased to be able to work with Lancashire MPs to fund community projects such as Jennings Community Boxing.
“This is exactly the kind of grassroots initiative that makes a genuine difference, giving young people positive outlets, strong role models, and opportunities they may not otherwise have had.”
The work done in Coppull will now be able to expand to cover the Clayton Brook area as well.
It aims to reduce anti-social behaviour through professionally led boxing sessions, one-to-one mentoring, teaching cooking skills and other development opportunities for young people deemed at risk.
Commissioner Grunshaw said: “Investing in projects like this is essential to preventing crime before it begins.
“The strong, supportive relationships formed between young people and positive male role models are invaluable, helping to guide them towards healthier choices and a brighter future.
“As Police and Crime Commissioner, I remain committed to backing community‑led programmes that tackle anti‑social behaviour and genuinely change lives.”
