The owner of a new bookshop in Longridge said she had been blown away by the positivity towards the venture since it opened its doors at the end of March.
The Next Chapter is based in a converted church towards the top of Berry Lane and has been hailed as a welcome addition to Longridge’s retail scene.
Run by Victoria Price and her daughter Millie, The Next Chapter has already attracted a lot of attention from local book clubs and literary enthusiasts.

Victoria, who also runs construction training business VMR Training on Longridge’s Sandbank Estate, said: “I have always loved reading and a lot of people were telling me that this is what Longridge needed.
“A lot of people who read have that dream of running their own bookshop and it’s really come from there.”
With book clubs already pencilled to host meetings at the shop and events with authors planned for the future, the shop will be managed by Millie but is very much a family affair for the Prices.

For Victoria, whose brother Jonny Waters runs nearby restaurant Hilltop Brasserie and has recently transformed Berry Lane’s Durham Ox, The Next Chapter will hopefully offer something different for Longridge locals or people visiting the town.
She added: “The amount of people who have come in and said what a good addition it is to the Longridge high street has been incredible. I really think the town needs to diversify its retail offering and get people in and hopefully this is part of that process.”
With The Next Chapter occupying the bottom floor of the building, there are plans for the upstairs to become a beauticians in the coming months.
