A popular but recently closed canalside pub is back open ahead of the Easter weekend.
Guy’s Thatched Hamlet, newly renamed as The Thatched Hamlet, closed in February after the previous owners entered administration but it was purchased by Bowland Inns & Hotels in March.
They said at the time that they would aim to start to reopen the Bilsborrow site as soon as possible alongside their plans for a renovation of it as a whole.

Now, after a soft launch earlier this week, ‘Owd Nells Tavern is back open and serving food. The former Guy’s Eating Establishment has not yet reopened.
‘Owd Nells is open Sunday to Thursday from 8am until 11pm and later until midnight on Friday and Saturday. Breakfast is served 8am to 11am and lunch and dinner from midday until 9pm.
A spokesperson told Blog Preston: “Bowland Inns & Hotels is pleased to confirm that ’Owd Nells Tavern at The Thatched Hamlet is now officially open for business, following a successful soft launch earlier this week.
“The venue is now open daily from 8am for breakfast, with food served throughout the day alongside a full drinks offering, including fine cask ales from Bowland Brewery. Rooms are also open and welcoming bookings.
“While the team has only held the keys for a matter of days, work is already underway across the site. The initial focus is on bringing the bars and dining spaces back to life, with a wider programme of refurbishment planned for the bedrooms and pavilions later this year.
“This marks the beginning of a careful and considered restoration of The Thatched Hamlet, ensuring the character of the site is retained while steadily improving the overall offer.
“With Easter approaching and the canal-side setting coming into its own, the venue is once again open for locals and visitors alike.”
