PSA are also due to formulate net zero carbon designs for any new buildings planned by the Reform-led administration.

Associate director at PSA, Andrew Bates, said: “This appointment means a great deal to us. We’re a Lancashire head-quartered business, we live and work here, and being able to contribute directly to the quality of public buildings in the county is something we genuinely value.

“Twenty years is a long time to work alongside any client, and that kind of relationship only comes from
doing the job properly and having a relationship built on trust. We’re looking forward to continuing that work and playing our part in helping the Council hit its
decarbonisation targets.”

The firm was founded in 1989 by Stephen Pettit and his wife Barbara, who originally rented a basement office from Bus Station designer Sir George Grenfell Baines. The business has since expanded, is owned by James Dobson as sole director and now employs 40 people at its headquarters just off Navigation Way.
