Standstill on the M6 after van flips between junction 33 and 32

There were severe delays on the M6 after a crash that saw a van flip onto its side.

Emergency services were called to the M6 southbound between junction 33 and junction 32 at around 7.45am on Friday morning (10 April).

They found a van had been involved in a collision and landed on its side.

Traffic was temporarily held and then two lanes were closed to allow emergency services to manage the scene safely. As of 10am the two lanes remain closed and there are delays of an hour approaching the scene on the M6 southbound.

Police said the crash involved two vehicles, including the van on its side, but any injuries as a result of it were minor.

Lancashire Constabulary, Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service and North West Ambulance Service were all called to the scene.
