South Ribble Borough Council has supported the dementia community to establish a new immersive experience.

The House of Memories immersive museum was designed to support people living with dementia as well as those who are vulnerable or socially isolated.

The event took place on 19 May with a mobile experience including familiar images and memories to spark connection and wellbeing.

“As a council, we’re dedicated to going above and beyond our statutory duties to support all of our residents to live well.

“The House of Memories: On the Road experience will be a meaningful opportunity for people living with dementia, their families and carers to connect , and I hope that people will come and join us on 19 May.”

Alongside the mobile museum experience, visitors were able to access information about practical dementia support tools, including Forget‑me‑not forms, hospital passports, hidden disability lanyards, and Message in a Bottle schemes.

The tools helped professionals and services better understand individual needs and provide safer, more personalised care.
