The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) in the Western Cape says the Deputy Mayor of the Bitou Municipality in Plettenberg Bay is expected to appear in a local magistrate’s court on 23 June.
Nokuzola Kolwapi was served with summons to appear in court in relation to firing a weapon in public at her son’s homecoming event in Kwanokuthula in December last year.
Videos of the event, which were circulated on social media, went viral. Kolwapi claims she had fired a toy gun.
