A Chorley resident has helped raise over one thousand pounds for two regional charities.
Sandra Winn raised money for Rosemere Cancer Foundation and Young Lives vs Cancer through an afternoon tea event.
She was treated for breast cancer, while her son Alex received counselling from Young Lives vs Cancer after being diagnosed with eye melanoma.

This year, she decided to give back to both causes through the community event.
Sandra said: “I was just starting my radiotherapy at Rosemere Cancer Centre two years ago, which was the final stage of my treatment, when Alex, who had gone for a routine eye test, received his diagnosis.
“It was a massive shock to everyone. The optician told him immediately he suspected cancer and was going to refer him.”
Talking about the event, Sandra said: “We sold out. Thank you so much to everyone who came and enjoyed the event, and a big thank you to those who were unable to attend and made donations, but especially to all the local businesses who donated some unbelievable raffle prizes.
“Special thanks go to my family, my husband Rob, Alex and Shannon, along with our friends Sharon and Gill and their husbands Mick and Tim for help with the catering, plating, serving and clearing up.”
She added: “Special thanks also to two other ladies and good friends, Susan and Maureen, who helped with preparations, including supplying all the crockery as well as the big clean-up afterwards.”
