A formal dinner celebrating Eid has raised almost £12,000 for Rosemere Cancer Foundation.
The event held at Preston’s Imperial Banqueting Suite invited 200 people, including the Mayoress of Preston, Nweeda Khan.
During the event, Professor Munavvar, a chest physician at Royal Preston Hospital, spoke about one of the projects he is working on with the charity.

The funded endoscopic tool will enable earlier, faster, and more accurate diagnosis of lung conditions, including lung cancer, as it can access parts of the lung that conventional scopes often fail to reach.
In addition, the dinner featured an auction and a bazaar with a range of stalls selling artwork, crafts, clothing, and sweets.
Fees from stall holders and auction pledges were added to ticket sales to create the dinner’s Rosemere donation.
Also in attendance were Consultant Clinical Oncologist Professor Alison Birtle and Dan Hill, chief officer of Rosemere Cancer Foundation.
