A community centre in Cottam has received a funding boost to support the upkeep of its volunteer run hub.

Cottam Community Centre offers regular weekly activities, and room hire for local groups and a place for people of all ages to connect.

The centre has been awarded a £1,500 donation from David Wilson Homes to replace the wooden arch above the centre’s entrance.

Operated by the Cottam Community Association, a registered charity, it plays an important role in bringing neighbours together and the strengthening community connection.

Trevor Hart, chair of Cottam Community Association, said: “We’re incredibly grateful for this generous donation. As a volunteer-led charity, support like this helps us maintain the centre, keep activities affordable and continue offering a space that the whole community can enjoy.”

Jennifer Burns, sales director at David Wilson Homes North West, added: “Cottam Community Centre is a brilliant example of what makes neighbourhoods thrive – people coming together and creating a place where everyone feels welcome.

“We’re proud to contribute to the work of the volunteers who keep the centre running and make such a positive difference to the community.”
