In pictures: Avenham Park goes pink for Cancer Research’s Race For Life and Pretty Muddy

Tens of thousands of pounds was raised for Cancer Research UK as the annual Race For Life and Pretty Muddy returned to the city.

And it was back to Avenham and Miller Parks for this year’s race with Moor Park out of action due to ongoing restoration works.

Thousands of runners took on the chance to walk, jog or run in memory of loved ones and friends who have cancer or who have passed away from any type of cancer.

Distances were 10k, 5k and 3k with kids and adult races during the event on Saturday 6 June.

As well as the fun run there was also the Pretty Muddy run with an obstacle course and slides to conquer.
