Longridge, Ribchester and Grimsargh Field Days – all you need to know

Field Day season is almost upon us, with Longridge, Ribchester and Grimsargh happening on consecutive weekends.

All taking place on Saturdays, Longridge kicks things off on 13 June, Ribchester on 20 June and Grimsargh on 27 June.

Below is the main timings for all of the events.

Longridge Field Day – Saturday 13 June

Parade entries assemble at Longridge Civic Hall from noon, with the parade getting underway and heading up Berry Lane at 12.30pm and then down Kestor Lane, Derby Road and back to Berry Lane.

Attention will then turn to Longridge Recreation Ground where there will a range family friendly activities, food stalls and entertainment running throughout the day. The fun fair will be open until 8pm.

Ribchester Field Day – Saturday 20 June

With parade entries assembling from about 12.15pm at Bee Mill, Preston Road, the parade leaves at 1pm for a couple of laps of the village, before finishing at Ribchester park just before 2pm.

From 2-5pm there is a field full of attractions to keep people entertained, from traditional games, small children’s fun fair and a demonstration by Pendle Dog Agility. With a bar on the field for the second year running, there will also be a tea tent and food stall for people to enjoy.

From 6pm in the marquee there will be a family disco for everyone to move to, while on Sunday from 2-4pm there is the annual village tea party.

Grimsargh Field Day – 27 June

Rounding off June is Grimsargh Field Day, which sees people gather at Grimsargh Village Hall before heading off for the village green at 12.30pm.

Once there, a range of stalls, fun fair, tea tent, barbecue, musicians and singers will be on-hand to entertain the crowds. With children’s races, five-a-side football tournament and even a dog show taking place, there will be something for everyone.

Grimsargh also organises a street art competition, with this year’s theme being the 1960s.
