Police have shut the M65 in both directions between Hoghton and Blackburn.
There’s delays approaching Junction 3 and Junction 4 due to a concern for welfare incident – due to a man being on a motorway bridge.
Traffic England is reporting the closure will be in place until around 10pm on Sunday (28 June).

The closure began around 7.45pm and police say traffic trapped within the closure will be released ‘as soon as it’s safe to do so’.
National Highways North West say there are queues of around a mile approaching both junctions and delays are continuing to build. Diversion routes are in place.
A spokesperson for police said: “Please avoid the area if you can and we will provide an update when possible. Thank you for your patience.”
