Preston-based King’s Dance Academy won ‘best dance school’ accolade in the Lancashire section of the Englands Business Awards.

King’s, which recently relocated from Longridge to Roman Way Industrial Estate to accommodate growing numbers of pupils, was recognised for the range of opportunities it presents for its students.

As Blog Preston reported last year, King’s won the Best Newcomer Award at the National Entertainment Awards (NEA) and, in the process, has the chance to send 17 of its pupils to Las Vegas for the NEA’s first ever international event this October.

Founder Izzy King said: “The academy offers exams in ballet, tap, modern and acrobatics, as well as competitions in street dance, hip hop, commercial, lyrical, jazz and contemporary.

“We have a performance team who attend local care homes and community events to perform. We offer a whole school dance show yearly, as well as a musical production year.”
