A Preston community group is bringing mums together through weekly walks, pilates sessions and social events after a young business owner spotted a growing need for support and connection.

The Mother Wellness Club, founded by 25‑year‑old Hannah Bridgeman, from Longridge, and who also runs Studio73 Pilates in Cottam, has quickly become a lifeline for local mums navigating the highs and lows of motherhood.

New mums with babies as young as 11 weeks join the walks alongside expectant mums, with many arriving not knowing anyone and leaving with real friendships.

The club’s Tuesday walks at Haslam Park have become its focal point and allow the chance for exercise and conversation with mums in the same situation and facing the same challenges.

Alongside the walks, the club offers pre and postnatal pilates classes and regular social events, including flower‑arranging workshops, giving mums the chance to move, unwind and enjoy experiences often pushed aside once children arrive.

Hannah said she created the club after seeing how isolating motherhood can be.

She said: “Becoming a mother is incredible, but it can also be lonely. Life shouldn’t stop when you’re a mum. You still want to enjoy brunch with friends, attend Pilates, meet new people and feel like yourself.

“We wanted to build something where women can come exactly as they are, whether they’re having a great day or a difficult one. Some of the friendships formed on our walks have been amazing to see.”

The weekly walks take place on Tuesdays at midday at Haslam Park. Free parking is available.

The pilates classes occur on Wednesdays at 10.30am and Thursdays at 2pm at Studio73 Pilates, Cottam. Babies are welcome.

A flower arranging with Dotty Blooms is also taking place at Haighton Manor on 1 July and is open to mums, babies, grandmas and friends, with tea and coffee included.
