Over a thousand people turned up to support a much-loved local charity this weekend.
The annual Yellow Day was held at St Catherine’s Hospice on Sunday (7 June) with entertainment, activities, traders and more to mark the occasion as part of their Yellow Ribbon Campaign.
There were duck races on the river in the grounds of St Catherine’s Park, classic cars, circus skills, inflatables and other entertainment.

Yellow Day is an annual event centred around tying yellow ribbons throughout the grounds of St Catherine’s Hospice, at Lostock Lane close to Bamber Bridge, to remember people who have died.
The charity provides inpatient and outpatient care for families across Preston, Chorley and South Ribble whose lives are affected by life-shortening conditions.

The amount raised by Yellow Day is set to be well over £16,000 and the hospice is still accepting donations.
Nikee Rolfe, Community and Events Fundraising Lead for St Catherine’s Hospice, said: “Well over 1,100 people from our local communities came to St Catherine’s Park for family fun and some top-class entertainment. The atmosphere was amazing!
“And to also raise an incredible £16,000 for local end-of-life care was certainly the icing on the cake. Thank you to all the individuals and organisations who made it such a fabulous community event.”
