Pensioner dies after crash into parked car in Kirkham

A pensioner has died in a crash in a quiet residential street in Kirkham.

Emergency services flooded into Carrwood Drive off Preston Street in Kirkham during Saturday afternoon.

Fylde Police say they were called just after 2pm to reports a Citroen C1 driver had hit a parked vehicle.

The driver of the car, a man in his 80s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say a female passenger in the vehicle was unhurt.

Detective Constable Simon Grounds of the serious collision investigation unit said: “Sadly a man has lost his life and I would appeal to anyone who saw what happened or who has any footage to get in touch.”
