Stagecoach North East Receives Oasis Community Housing Award for Second Consecutive Year

Stagecoach North East has received recognition from homelessness charity Oasis Community Housing for the second year running, highlighting the transport operator’s ongoing commitment to supporting people experiencing homelessness across the region.

The bus operator received the charity’s Shared Value Award at a presentation at Stagecoach’s Sunderland Depot.

The award celebrates organisations that go above and beyond in supporting the charity’s mission to reignite hope and a future for everyone facing homelessness.

Based in Gateshead, Oasis Community Housing helps around 1,500 men, women and young people each year through housing, support services and programmes designed to address both immediate needs and the root causes of homelessness.

Stagecoach North East, whose headquarters are based in North Bridge Street in Sunderland, has developed a strong relationship with the charity through its commitment to supporting communities across the region.

Oasis Community Housing works across North East England, providing crisis services, 24-hour supported housing and specialist programmes, including support for women escaping domestic abuse.
