Woman hits tree and flips car in suspected drug driving crash

A woman is in custody after a crash which shut a busy road in Ribbleton.

The 40-year-old driver hit a tree and overturned in Watling Street Road near to the SPAR store.

Lancashire Police say the crash took place at 10.04am on Monday (22 June) and one vehicle was involved.

Pictures and video sent to Blog Preston show emergency services at the scene and the car has come to rest on a pedestrian crossing.

No one was hurt in the crash.

A police spokesperson confirmed to Blog Preston the 40-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of driving with excess drugs and is currently in custody.

The road has since re-opened.
