Blyth Carnival Brings Colour, Music And Community Spirit To Town Centre

Thousands of people gathered for a spectacular day of colour, music and community spirit as Blyth Town Council’s annual Blyth Carnival returned for another successful year.

The highlight of the day was the vibrant carnival parade, with eye-catching floats and hundreds of participants in colourful costumes making their way through the town centre as spectators lined the streets.

Throughout the day, visitors enjoyed a packed programme of entertainment and activities. The Market Pavilion Creative Space was a hive of activity, with PURPLE CIC hosting popular Lego and craft workshops that kept younger visitors entertained. Families also took part in acrobatics sessions with Control & Move Acrobatics, martial arts workshops led by the Northern Freestyle Karate Association, met the crew from the RNLI and tried on their lifesaving equipment, while the Blyth Tall Ship charity created it’s own mini version of the Williams II for the parade.

The town centre buzzed with activity as visitors explored the many attractions, enjoying hands-on activities and soaking up the carnival atmosphere.

The entertainment programme featured a diverse line-up that appealed to all ages while showcasing the wealth of talent from across Blyth. Live music performances created a true carnival atmosphere, while a variety of dance acts and stage performances kept audiences entertained throughout the day.

Adding to the celebrations was an impressive selection of stalls offering a wide range of products, crafts and delicious food. Local businesses, charities and food vendors came together to create a vibrant marketplace, giving visitors plenty of opportunities to shop, eat and support organisations from across the community.

The successful event once again demonstrated Blyth’s strong community spirit, bringing together residents, performers, volunteers and organisations for a memorable celebration that highlighted the very best of the town.
