Build One South Africa (BOSA) has named its national spokesperson, Roger Solomons, as the party’s mayoral candidate for the City of Cape Town. This comes ahead of the local government elections scheduled for November 4.

Solomons says helping the city’s residents is at the heart of his leadership.

He says leadership is not about position, but about responsibility.

“It’s about being a good steward and it’s about how you carry the lives of others in every decision you make. Cape Town doesn’t lack potential; what it lacks is the build in shift priorities and leadership to match that urgency for the people,” he says.

Solomons says the next chapter for Cape Town must be a deliberate shift from stability to shared progress where growth, safety, and opportunities are experienced right across the city.

“I’m not stepping up to lead the city because I believe the city is broke. I’m stepping up because I believe it is unfinished,” he adds.
