Crews rushed to the scene of a fire at a terraced house close to a school.
Five fire engines were called to Greendale Mews, off West Park Avenue and close to Ashton Primary School, at 12.28pm on Friday (17 July).
The fire had started in the roof space of a terraced property and has now been extinguished.

Crews from the fire service were still at the scene on Friday evening.
The fire service did not make reference to any casualties or injuries.
A spokesperson for the fire service said: “At 12:28 on 17 July 2026, Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service were called to reports of a domestic building fire on Greendale Mews, Preston.
“Five fire engines and one aerial appliance attended from Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service. The fire involved the roof space of a terraced property and was extinguished by firefighters using two breathing apparatus.
“Fire crews are still on scene.”
