Crews were called to a bungalow fire on Blackpool Road in Lea in which a dog was rescued.
The fire was discovered after reports of a ‘loud bang’ startled neighbours who then called for help.
Emergency services were sent to the fire near Lea Police station at 8.03pm on Saturday (11 July).

The occupants of the bungalow were not at home at the time of the incident and no injuries occurred at the scene.
It is understood a dog was rescued from the property.
Emergency services from Fulwood and Penwortham were at the scene for 2 hours and the cause of the fire is unknown.
A spokesperson for the fire service said: “At 20:03 on the 11th July 2026, two fire engines from Fulwood and Penwortham attended a domestic building fire on Blackpool Road, Preston.
“Crews wore breathing apparatus and used one hose reel and a ventilation unit to extinguish the fire. One dog was rescued by fire service personnel. Crews were in attendance for approximately two hours.”
