A former Kirkham Grammar School pupil is to complete a seven-mile open water swim to raise funds for a charity that helped her mum last year.
Hannah Fingleton, 27, is two miles into the event in support of Rosemere Cancer Foundation who helped her mum, Ann’s breast cancer journey last year.
Ann, from Fulwood, had to undergo chemotherapy at Rosemere Cancer Foundation followed by surgery at Chorley and South Ribble Hospital.

Hannah, a trainee solicitor, completed last month’s Great North swim in Lake Windermere and has raised over half of her £3000 target.

She said: “Mum became interested in open water swimming while I was in university. I’ve always liked swimming and water sports, so when I joined a new gym which had a pool following Mum’s all clear, I decided to begin training for a challenge.
“I wanted to give something back for the treatment she had received and to help other women in the future.”
Hannah now has a one-mile swim in the Cornish sea, a two-and-a-half-mile swim of Rutland Water reservoir and a one-and-a-half-mile swim in Buckinghamshire.
Her intense challenge will end in September of this year.
Hannah Leachy, fundraising assistant for Rosemere Cancer Foundation, said: “Well done to Hannah on successfully completing the Lake Windermere leg of her swim challenge.
“We are extremely grateful to Hannah for choosing to support us.
“Her donation will go towards projects supporting local women through their breast cancer treatment journey.”
