A new swim school could soon open in Ashton-on-Ribble.
Plans have been submitted to Preston City Council which would see the pool opened in two former units off Blackpool Road.
Located next to the Wynsors store, the facility would offer lessons for up to six people at a time and operate from 8am-10pm each day.

The plans are being brought forward by the people behind SwimPro Fulwood and the company’s founder, Iman Vaza, told Blog Preston the new facility is aims to expand access to high quality swimming lessons, improve water safety, and provide much needed specialist swimming provision for children and adults, including those with SEND.
He said the project has been developed with the aim of creating a safe, inclusive facility that supports local families, helps reduce waiting lists for swimming lessons, and provides opportunities for people of all ages to learn essential life saving skills.
The proposed pool will be 10x4m, with the venue also having a viewing gallery, changing facilities and shower space. Classes will range from 1:1 to a maximum of six swimmers, with two staff on site at a time.
The application states: “This proposal will enable the local area to support both its educational and leisure requirements, while simultaneously enhancing the health and fitness and vitality of the area. The development is not anticipated to result in any material adverse impact on the surrounding environment.
“Furthermore, it will actively promote health and well-being for individuals of all ages and abilities within the community, through professional education. The site’s location is particularly well-suited for a community facility of this nature, given its accessibility to residents via a range of sustainable transport modes.”
