There were long delays on the M6 northbound after a car overturned onto a grass verge.
Emergency services were called to the M6 northbound close to the junction 32 link with the M55 at 10.52 am on Friday morning (3 July) after reports of a crash.
Lancashire Constabulary attended along with crews from North West Ambulance Service.

They found that a car was on its side on the grass verge and one lane of traffic was closed while the driver received treatment.

They have since been taken to hospital to be assessed.
The delays, which were severe, had eased by midday but there remains some congestion heading northbound.
