More than 70 local performers will take to the stage this weekend as Next Act Festival makes its debut at ARTCH Studios.
Taking place on Sunday (26 July), the six-hour festival is the Next Act team’s biggest event yet as it expands its monthly showcase into a multi-stage celebration of 71 local performers across three indoor studios and one outdoor stage.
Hosted by presenter Sam Henly, the line-up includes six outdoor musicians and singers, 14 comedians, 12 actors, 11 musical theatre singers, five indoor singers, 16 poets, two drag singers, a clown, two short plays and three dance performances.
Organiser Abbie Clegg says the festival has been created to showcase the city’s wealth of homegrown talent.
“There’s a huge creative community that is super talented in Preston, and it’s important we celebrate that and support local talent,” said Abbie.
Alongside the performances, the festival will feature food from Mimmo’s Pizza, drinks from Only Cans, and live illustration by Hannah Robinson.

Next Act Festival runs from 3pm until 9pm at ARTCH Studios on Gradwell Street and is open to those aged 16 and over.
Earlier in the day, from 10am to 1pm, ARTCH Studios will also host the Next Act Jr Festival, giving young performers aged seven to 16 the opportunity to perform, take part in workshops and celebrate the magic of the arts.
