A Preston church is set to celebrate the international community that gathers for worship each week.
Preston Seventh-day Adventist Church in Grimshaw Street has nearly 30 nationalities represented within its congregation.
The congregation includes people from across Africa, Asia, Europe, the Caribbean and the Americas, reflecting the diversity of Preston’s community.
The church is inviting local people to attend services and community celebrations taking place on Saturday 18 July from 9.45am.
The street will be decorated with the flags of participating nationalities, and members of the congregation will share traditional dishes from around the world.

Pastor Roman Smejkal, minister of Preston Seventh-day Adventist Church, said: “Our church’s diversity is not by chance but by God’s design. His vision is always greater than ours. While we often build walls, He is already building bridges.
“On this special day, we will be reminded of the beautiful picture in Revelation 7:9, where John saw ‘a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne.’ My prayer is that, as we celebrate together, we catch a glimpse of that heavenly reality and imagine what it will be like when we are all gathered in God’s kingdom.”
