A University of Lancashire student who was seconds away from death has celebrated graduating with a first class degree.
Tegan Hood was electrocuted while working in her part-time job and suffered significant trauma to her arm.
She did not let her physical complications get in the way or her completing her final year of studying journalism.

The 21-year-old said: “I was utterly determined not to let it defeat me and I’m absolutely thrilled I managed to still come out with a first-class honour in my degree.”
She added: “I’m so excited and glad my hard work and resilience have finally paid off. Coming back to university after being electrocuted was so hard, but I was determined to succeed, even if it was with one arm!”
In her three years of studying journalism, Tegan had taken on over one hundred days of placement days at the BBC, Global Radio and Liverpool Echo’s newsrooms. She also reported for Blog Preston and secured a world exclusive story earlier this year about a boy from Preston’s rare genetic condition.
She also set up a TikTok and Instagram page which chronicled her university and trainee journalist journey.
This grew quickly and resulted in her gaining an invite to appear on BBC’s The One Show after one of her posts went viral.
