Members of Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Cabinet have visited the town’s new Leisure and Wellbeing Hub as construction continues ahead of its planned opening in March 2027.
The development remains on schedule, with work progressing across the building and its internal spaces.
During the visit, Cabinet members saw how the facility is taking shape and learned more about the work under way to create a range of leisure, fitness and wellbeing areas.
Once complete, the hub will offer modern and accessible facilities for swimming, fitness, sport, play and relaxation.
The council said the development would create new opportunities for residents of all ages and abilities to become more active and support their health and wellbeing.
Cllr Chris Morgan, Cabinet Member for Leisure, said: “It was fantastic to see the progress being made and how the new facility is beginning to take shape. This is a major investment in the health and wellbeing of our communities, and we look forward to opening the doors in March 2027.”
The project is a key part of the council’s Sport and Active Recreation Strategy 2019-2029, which aims to provide modern, accessible facilities that help residents lead active and healthy lives.
