Medical students at the University of Edinburgh have raised over £250,000 for Teenage Cancer Trust by holding their 12th annual charity dance show- Edinburgh Medics’ Reveal.
This year’s Medics’ Reveal took place at Usher Hall, Edinburgh and raised over £45,000.
Edinburgh Medics’ Reveal is a variety dance show produced, choreographed and performed by medical and nursing students from the University of Edinburgh.
The money raised from the show will be used by Teenage Cancer Trust to fund specialist hospital units, nurses and youth workers across the UK that provide outstanding age-appropriate care and emotional support to those in need.
Medics’ Reveal was founded by Catherine Fox in 2014 to honour her sister, who was diagnosed with leukaemia as a teenager.
The students continue to raise money to help the charity continue to provide vital services for young people who are in need.

‘Edinburgh Medics’ Reveal is one of the highlights of the medical school calendar. It’s a chance for everyone to get together, have some fun, and raise money for a fantastic cause. This year’s show had over 250 dancers, more than ever before.
The fundraising effort runs from September to April, and this year we are incredibly proud of everyone’s hard work in raising £45,860, bringing our 12-year total to £265,890.00!

Cancer is tough. But Teenage Cancer Trust’s work puts young people in the best possible place, physically, mentally and emotionally, for their cancer treatment and beyond.
We do that by funding specialist nurses, youth workers and hospital wards within the NHS, so that young people with cancer get the sensitive, individual care and support they need at a unique and critical life stage.
But we’re dependent on donations for this vital work, which is why we’re so very grateful to Edinburgh University’s Medical Students for their support.
Reaching the remarkable milestone of £250,000 over 12 years is a truly outstanding achievement and a testament to their dedication and commitment. The incredible total of £265,890 is equivalent to more than four years of specialist medical, social and emotional care for a young person from the moment they are diagnosed with cancer.
