Santaco condemns fatal shooting of Gauteng discipline head

The South African National Taxi Council (Santaco) has condemned the fatal shooting of its Gauteng Head of Discipline, Jabulani Ntshangase, describing his killing as a devastating blow to the taxi industry.

He was killed last Friday in Midrand.

Ntshangase, who played a key role in conflict resolution and maintaining discipline within the sector, was widely respected for promoting unity among taxi associations.

Santaco has called on the police to urgently investigate and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.

Gauteng Spokesperson Graham Fritz says, “His passing represents a tremendous loss to Santaco Gauteng and the broader public transport industry. His courage, leadership and dedication to advancing the interests of the taxi industry have left a lasting legacy that will be remembered with gratitude and respect. On behalf of the Santaco Gauteng Provincial Executive Committee, member associations and the entire taxi industry, we extend our sincere condolences to the Ntshangase family.”
