The site manager in charge at Bellway’s Centurion Chase development in Wallsend has been recognised for his commitment to excellence by the National House Building Council (NHBC).
Dave McAthey, from South Shields, has received a coveted Seal of Excellence in the NHBC’s 2026 Pride in the Job Awards.
Dave said:
“The Pride in the Job awards are some of the most coveted in our industry, and it’s a real honour to have been awarded a Seal of Excellence. It’s down to the hard work of the whole team and their willingness to work to high standards every day we’re on site.
“After my first Quality Award win in 2025 I hoped to follow it up with the Seal of Excellence, and I’m so pleased to have achieved that for Centurion Chase this year.”
Now in their 45th year, the Pride in the Job awards are among the most prestigious in the housebuilding industry. Judging is a rigorous process which encompasses every aspect of a site manager’s responsibilities, including consistency, attention to detail, leadership, interpretation of drawings and specifications, technical expertise and health and safety.
The North East regional awards ceremony took place on Friday 18 September at Royal Armouries New Dock Hall in Leeds.
