The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) has put access to clean and uncontaminated water on its agenda ahead of the November 4th Local Government Elections.
Addressing supporters at the EFF provincial manifesto launch in eMalahleni, Mpumalanga, party leader Julius Malema says access to safe drinking water should be a basic right.
Malema says no contractor must be hired to fix burst water pipes, adding that such work should be given to locals.
“Fighters, we must make sure that on the 4th of November we are at the forefront of the election. Why? Because we want to deliver water to our people; our people want water and they don’t want dirty water from Witbank that is contaminated by underground mining; they want clean water, drinkable water that will not cause diarrhoea.”
