Eleven people have died in a head-on collision between a minibus taxi and a heavy motor vehicle on the N2 southbound, in KwaManandi in Mtubatuba in northern KwaZulu-Natal.
Eight others sustained serious burn wounds.
It is believed that the occupants of the minibus taxi were on their way from a Maskandi festival in eMpangeni.
Road traffic authorities have cautioned that both lanes of the N2 are completely blocked.
