Sam Yielder has been promoted to Head of Paid

SQUIDGY, the Newcastle digital agency that does SEO, PPC and Paid Social and nothing else, has expanded its Paid team following one of the strongest years in the agency’s history, with two promotions and a new hire landing within the same period.

Sam Yielder has been promoted to Head of Paid, taking on leadership of the team’s strategy and delivery across Google Ads, Microsoft Ads and paid social. The role sees Sam responsible for how the team plans, builds and reports on paid campaigns for clients across the agency’s growing account list, as well as shaping how the team continues to grow from here.

Alongside that, Amy Rowell moves up to Paid Media Manager, taking on greater ownership of client accounts and day-to-day campaign delivery. Rounding out the changes, the team welcomes Conor Simpson, who joins as a new Paid Media Manager, bringing fresh capacity as client demand for paid media management continues to grow.

It’s been a good year for the numbers, too: the team more than doubled LinkedIn spend under management, up 160.1% year-on-year, and grew Google Ads spend under management by 21.7% over the same period. That growth is what’s driving the expansion – more accounts, more budget under management, and a team built to match it.

It’s been a big year for the Paid team, we’ve grown the accounts we manage, grown the team around them, and grown what we’re capable of delivering for clients. Promoting Amy and bringing Conor in isn’t just filling seats, it’s making sure we’ve got the right people in place to keep that momentum going into next year. – Sam Yielder, Head of Paid, SQUIDGY

The changes come at a point where more businesses are looking to make every click count rather than simply spend more, and SQUIDGY says the restructure reflects a deliberate move to keep the Paid team senior-led as it scales, rather than growing headcount for its own sake.
