As the UK’s national infrastructure body for youth work and outdoor learning, we will be attending this year’s party conferences to champion the interests of young people, youth work and outdoor learning across the UK, while building wider support for the vital work of our network.
UK Youth will host events at Labour and Conservative Party Conferences and be represented at Liberal Democrat, Green and Reform Party Conferences.
We’ll be speaking to policymakers, platforming our young #iWill ambassadors and making the case for youth work at a pivotal time for youth policy, with the Milburn Review and National Youth Strategy in the pipeline for young people.
We will also be reaching out to cross-sector experts, journalists, employers and think tanks to advocate for youth services and the key role youth work plays in the life of young people and their communities in every postcode.
UK Youth team at conferences
Our Head of Policy and Public Affairs Laura and our CEO Rosie will be attending the Labour Conference with Elle from our Youth Participation team and our #iWill ambassadors Jayden and Charlotte, in Liverpool.
Laura will be joining our #iWill ambassadors Constanza and Yashneil at the Conservative Party Conference with Banseka from our Youth Participation team. Laura also attended Reform conference in early September in Birmingham.
Our new Policy and Public Affairs Officer Grace will be attending the Liberal Democrat and Green Party Conferences, both taking place in Brighton.
We’re calling on Government to:
- Recognise youth work as a core pathway to education, employment and training
- Ensure young people have a voice in all decisions that affect their lives
- Invest in prevention and early intervention for young people’s mental health through our Thriving Minds programme
- Expand access to high-quality outdoor learning, enrichment and personal development opportunities for all young people in every postcode.
